Cartoons going to live action

The past few years some cartoons made the cross over to live action like this year's Scooby Doo movie. While I have no connections to the powers to be that make such movies I would like to make the following suggestions.

"Jonny Quest" would be the easist to do, don't know if any dog that looks like Bandit exist. Don't know what would be a good story line for this movie.

"Space Ghost" as in the super-hero from the 60's and not the talk show host from the 90's as the subject of the movie.

"The Herculoids" could be done using stuff from King Kong, Jurassic Park, Reign of Fire, and Abyss/Terminator 2.

"Super Chicken" would be nice to do, while the character of Henry Cabot Henhouse III could be a human, who then turns into a chicken by drinking the Super Sauce (tm), it doesn't explain his side-kick Fred who happens to be a lion.

"Tom Slick" would be another easy one to do, all of the characters in the cartoon are human. Except the super long arm of Baron Automatic who pipe wrenchs his henceman Fletcher whenever he does something wrong.

Any others that I missed?

Here are some old cartoons that would probably make good live action movies:

1. Space Angel

2. Fireball XL-5 *

3. The Thunderbirds *

4. Captain Scarlett & the Mysterons *

5. Princess Knight

6. Speed Racer (I heard someone was supposed to make a live action version)

* These were "Supermarionation" puppet-toons put out by the ITC studios in England, which later gave us the live action space drama, "Space 1999."

I think it's about time I asked this: Why, oh, why, is Hollywood not interested in making a Superfriends movie? I understand that the comic-book versions of the characters are much more interesting to adapt on film, but, eh... why not, really? (They could make it a surreal comedy, somewhere along the lines of This Is Spinal Tap crossed with Men In Black.)

In the meantime, plans for a live-action Fat Albert movie have been scrapped due to "creative differences." (It sounded like such a good idea at the time...)

As long as nobody comes up with the live-action versions of Captain Caveman and The Funky Phantom, I'm OK.

How about an all-live-action Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

I remember reading on some web site a long time ago they did a Justice League of America movie. I had the impression it was a TV Movie that didn't do to well.

Not to change the subject but maybe the Cartoon Network could do a cartoon piece on a spaceship race with the Starduster, Fireball XL-5, Thunderbird 3, Duck Dodger's spaceship, Marvin the Martian's spaceship and the Thunderbolt Grease Slapper converted to a spaceship.

Who would win?

I can't believe I forget to add Space Ghost's Phantom Cruiser (the 60's version not the 70-80's version) to the great cartoon spaceship race.

Any others that I missed?

Hmmm... the inevitable hybrid of Wacky Races and The Amazing Race. I love it!

(And while we're at it, let's just go ahead and add Dastardly and Muttley to the whole mix - I know they'll be totally outclassed, but, y'know, just to add to that whole mock-reality concept. Bwah!)

Ah yes, their spaceship would have a "00" on it and crewed by those two guys that helped them in the series that went after the pigeon.

Just rememebered we could add Condor-1 from the Galaxy Trio cartoon (they was part of Birdman) into the race.

Of course we could always add a few bad guys' spaceship from the Space Ghost cartoon.

According to IMDb here is the link to a Justice League of America TV movie done in 1997 but never shown in the US.

Personally, I'd pay to see the Mighty Heros live action movie. :) I don't know who'd want to play Diaper Man, though...

Call it typecasting but if they ever made Tom Slick and/or Super Chicken, Brendan Fraser should be in it. For sure he should be Tom Slick but for Super Chicken he should be Fred.

As far as Fred being a lion well I suppose a side effect of mixing the super sauce turns him into a lion, not a super powered one, just enough to look like one, stand upright and talk.
