Scary Movie 3

Saw Scary Movie 3 at the Ward 16 on Sunday afternoon.

It's been a while since I have seen a movie during it's openning weekend and I needed a break. I never saw the first two Scary Movies but that doesn't seem to be an issue in this movie if you want to laugh.

This one spoofing Signs in a major way using The Ring (which I never saw) as part of it's plot and throwing in The Sixth Sense, The Matrix Reloaded, and Air Force One (or maybe Independence Day) for good measure and that extra laugh.

This movie is rated PG-13 and some of the humor is mildly gross (in other words eat after this movie and not before).

All in all I kind of like the movie and I wasn't offended by the situations used in the movie since it was a spoof.

Seems like every "blogger" in town has seen "Kill Bill" or "Scary Movie 3" ... or both.

I'd be more inclined to "Mystic River" myself.

Haven't seen Scary Movie 3 yet, but Mystic River was excellent as expected.

Traces of the Dragon -- 3 1/2 stars
(Documentary about Jackie Chan's amazing family)

The Cooler -- 3 1/2
(William Macy is excellent again)

This Girl's Life -- 3 1/2
(James Woods in a remarkable role as a Parkinson's disease victim, and Juliette Marquis in a memorable debut)

Scary Movie 3 is funny and very good. Brenda Meeks dies when she gets killed after watching 'The Ring' video. Very funny and smart.
