Small Kid Time TV

Yesterday I was browsing through Shirokiya when a very familiar song began to pipe through the store's speakers. As people may know, Kikaida is undergoing a revival of sorts. Reruns are currently being shown on KIKU, and there will be a Kikaida festival next month. This got me thinking: what are your fond memories of Small Kid Time TV? Kikaida? Checkers and Pogo? Battle Fever J? Professor Fun?

Right before Easter

I just read this story and my blood is near boiling!

Those Darn Van Cams

So the state contracted a mainland company to deploy speed camera vans on Honolulu's highways, and when the tickets — hundreds of them — started flying, locals started howling. Front page news for weeks. Love 'em? Hate 'em?

Easter

Is Easter brunch on the menu for anyone? This one is a big deal for us, because it will be the first outing for Mom for purposes other than medical in quite a while. We're (all six of us) headed to the Oceanarium, which has long been a favorite of ours for Easter. My nieces love (well, used to love...they're older!) to watch the fish, and the diver feeding them. Then I've promised to drive Mom by the Convention Center, since she hasn't seen it except on TV or in the papers. Should be fun!

How good?

So today is Good Friday. Is it a holiday for you or not? In either case, what do you plan to do with it?

Oscars

So, anybody watch? Every year, I am glued, because I am a sucker and I can't help it. It's a big "cool kid" popularity contest, but there are just far too may snarking possibilities.

Downtown Eats

Okay. How about our first non-Meta (i.e. not related to the HawaiiStories website itself) post? What's a good spot downtown for eats?

Woohoo! Up and Running

Wow! Ryan--you da man! This is really awesome! I went through the Diarist.Net links (I was in the process of stealing a link button when Steve emailed me about this project---I took it as a sign) and compared them with your Isle Ties list. The Isle Ties list is longer and, I think, more current.

And this may very well be the last "test post," as domain propagation seems pretty complete, and now all widgets work correctly. Yay! HawaiiStories.com. I'm not sure what it is just yet, but I hope you like it.

This is another test entry. Yes, that makes three. Yes, I used a photo of "me" (my wife) as the user icon for this account, even though I know full well "I" probably won't use HawaiiStories much. Yes, I know that means I'm probably going to kick "my" butt.
